Enemies/Creatures
**ATTENTION** These are only some of the enemies and creatures that appear in Doctor Who.
*To learn more about each creature or enemy, click on titles that are their names.
*Humans are not on this list because it's what we are... hopefully.
Time Lords are not on this list either because there is a page on this website for that.
Dalek
Daleks originate from the planet Skaro. Skaro was once inhabited by
2 humanoid races, Kaled and
Thal. One scientific elite of the Kaled,
Davros, genetically engineered the Kaled to end the war between
the Kaleds and Thals once and for all. The generically engineered species was put into metal suits, made of
polycarbonide and
dalekanium.
The suits were equipped with communicators, thought-to-speech mechanisms, a gunstick that fired extremely powerful lasers, manipulator
arm, self-destruct orbs, telescope eyestalk, and multiple defensive mechanisms. The suit could absorb energy, as well as disintegrate
bullets fired at it. Some suits were equipped with the power to fly. The actual genetically engineered species had all feelings removed,
except for hate.
This lead to Davros’ original plan, to end the war between the Kaleds and Thals, to backfire. The Daleks whipped out both the races,
and pursued the mission of exterminating everything that wasn’t Dalek. The Doctor once said that this made
them the supreme ethnic cleansers. This is what caused them to fight in The Last Great Time War.
The Master
The Master is Time Lord, who was childhood friends with the Doctor. The Master was a
renegade to the Time Lords, and a competitor to the Doctor. This, along with his lust for power, caused a drift between him and the
Doctor. Eventually the two grew to hate each other, but sometimes still acted as allies.
The Master regenerated into a woman for his last regeneration, but was killed by the male regeneration
of the second to last regeneration. This was because the second to last regeneration was so mad and against reforming into a good
person, so he killed his future self, leaving her unable to regenerate.
Weeping Angels
The Weeping Angels are beings that get quantum-locked,
when looked at. This makes them so they cannot be killed when they are seen. The Weeping Angels are extremely fast when not seen.
This is why “don’t blink" is such good advice. If you turn away, or blink, for even a second, the Weeping Angels can get you.
An image of an angel, itself becomes an angel. This means that if a photograph or a video is taken on a Weeping Angel, it can come
to life and come out of the image. Also, if you stare into a Weeping Angels eyes, it can get you from the inside. Coming as in image
in your eye, it will turn you into stone. The Weeping Angels feed off of time energy. They touch a person and zap them back in time,
feeding off the time energy of what that person would’ve been. That’s why it is said that Weeping Angels are the “only psychopaths
in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss. They just zap you into the past and let you live to death".
Cybermen
The Cybermen are a race of cybernetically augmented humanoids. They do not have emotions and see them as a weakness. Their main goal is to upgrade humanoids into Cybermen, through Cyber-conversion
The Silence
The Silence were beings that made it so people that were looking at them could only retain the memories of them while looking at
them. Once the person turned away, all memories of the silence were dormant and unable to be reached, until they saw the silence again.
The Silence were created by the Church of the
Papal Mainframe. The original purpose of the Silence was to
prevent with the Doctor from saying his name into the crack in time and space, on
Trenzalor, which would give the all clear for the
Time Lords. The all clear would let the Time Lords come through the crack, from the
bubble universe that the Doctor trapped
Gallifrey in at the end of The Last Great Time War.
The Church’s fear was that the Time War would start again and endanger all of creation.
The Kovarian Chapter of the Church, led by
Madame Kovarian, broke off to time travel along the
Doctor’s time line in order to kill the Doctor before he even got the chance to discover Trenzalor. This is who turned
River Song into a weapon to kill the Doctor by
Lake Silencio.
Silurian
Silurian were the species to rule the earth before humans. They were more technologically advanced than humans, but went into hibernation way before humans came about. They lived alongside their aquatic cousins, Sea Devils. They went into hibernation because there were many weather anomalies that scared them, which was due to the new moon.
Sontaran
The Sontarans were a militaristic, clone species. They were created by Kaveetch, the non-clone counter-parts from the planet Sontar.
The Great Intelligence
The Great Intelligence was known as a formless being with a mind and a will. Many times the Doctor foiled his plans. This led to the Great Intelligence finding the Doctor’s grave on Trenzalor and going into the Doctor’s time stream. This essentially killed the Great Intelligence, but allowed echos of himself to spread across the Doctor’s time line, in order to defeat the Doctor at every turn. This essentially killed the Doctor, as well as destroying every planet, thing, or person that the Doctor ever saved. Although, this was all reversed when Clara Oswald followed the Great Intelligence into the Doctor’s time line in order to save him.
